What was good about Peter?

1. During lecture time, Peter is always actively answering our questions, which help us to catch up in class and eliminate our questions immediately

Other than that, TA is doing great

1. During the lab he would aid students with the first part, but the second part we are on our own to solve the issue.
2. Have more TAs, sometimes students have to wait for a long time to ask questions or ask for checking of Labs
3. He can prepare more and more examples for lab work or assignments. It is because this is the first time that we learn to write codes. While some codes are difficult to understand and we need a lot of examples. And we are not sure whether the codes written by us are right or not.

What was good about Peter?

1. He explained the lab very clearly. And he raised my interest in doing the lab. For example, in the last lab, he showed a lot of music tracks, like Let it go, Animal Crossing song. It made the lab more interesting. The pre recorded video by Peter is really good, very detailed and easy to follow helped me a lot in this course His presentation is easy to listen as well
2. Again, one of the best TAs during my study in HKUST. He speaks clearly and loudly, such that people would hardly fall asleep during the lab (haha). Also, a brand new way of asking questions online (via sli.do) encourages me to ask more questions regarding the lab rather than raising hands in front of 60+ people in the lab.
3. He really arouse my interest in doing and going to the lab even if it was a 9am class. He tells jokes and it was quite fun. I learnt and understand more than in the lecture and he explained everything in details and I really appreciate that. He also answer my questions and give me a useful answer.
4. He explains clearly in the lab. Besides,He always reminds us to upload the file and check the marking scheme before leaving. This helps us get higher marks in the lab and avoid losing the file. He sometimes also tells jokes in the lab which make the lab more interesting
5. He explains everything in details and is very helpful. He is willing to offer you help when you have any questions. I like how he reminds us some important issues every time and he did really concern about whether we understand the lab work or not
6. The TA is humorous. He tells many jokes during the lab session. This makes it enjoyable and interesting. He also explained some functions of Excel in a funny way, which makes it easy to understand and memorize. I love to attend the lab session held by the TA

1. Attitude may be potentially more serious instead of being a troll, but this may be a good thing to reduce pressure of coding for students
2. Sometimes he spent too much time with the easy part, and then rushed on the most complex parts of the labs.

4. Maybe can open more time slots for asking questions face to face cause sometimes email might not be the best way to explain things

1. Peter provided quick and effective response in replying emails. He also conducted interactive and "non-boring" tutorials like interesting ways to memorise some concepts.
2. The TAs are all very nice and helpful, especially TA Peter, he always explains concepts very clearly with animations in the tutorials. He also made a website for each students to check their assignment scores, and he is often patient and kind to answering student's questions through emails
3. I really appreciate Peter for putting extra effort in the lab session such that students can understand the topic better. The animations and examples indeed help me a lot in understanding how the things work.
4. Peter is very clear and fun to hear from. His lab sessions are the sessions that i looked most forward to. To the extent that I picked up the courage to do this survey only to upvote him. I can tell that he really wants to explain for the purpose of delivering actual knowledge to students. Other TAs, not so much.
5. Peter teaches very well in tutorial sessions and is able to explain lots of difficult and confusing concepts in simple words or metaphors. He also explain the rationale behind various programming assignments very detailed so that I found it meaningful and enjoyable. He is one of the best TA I have seen in UST.
6. Peter seems to be extremely passionate towards teaching. His explanations are clear and clears up a lot of confusion towards some of the more complicated concepts. Also does ACTUAL demo instead of only reading the slides, which is a rare trait. They say it is way easier to look at the bad than the good. I tried my best to write as many good things that I spotted. Thank you Peter!!!!
7. The TA is very enthusiastic and he is able to explain concepts in lessons very well. He also gave very clear instructions for the programming assignments. In particular, he wrote a simple website for PA1 that included a code editor together with videos to explain the code, which is very impressive. I think it's rare to find TAs with such passion in HKUST.
8. Mr Chung will prepare extra project materials in order to provide more help to all the students. The materials are very useful and well organized. Thanks to Peter, I have a better understanding to my project assignment and he saves me a lot time!
